Education

Dr. Tsai grew up in Walnut Creek and attended Northgate High School.  He graduated from U.C.L.A. with a bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry before attending Harvard School of Dental Medicine, where he earned his D.M.D. degree.  While at Harvard, he was awarded the prestigious “Dr. Leo Talkov Award for Outstanding Clinician” and “American Academy of Periodontology Annual Student Award.”

Award-Winning Dentistry

Dr. Tsai was awarded his advanced periodontics certificate from the West Los Angeles VA Medical Center and was a finalist for the California Society of Periodontists Outstanding Periodontal Resident in the Pacific Coast.  Dr. Tsai returned to the Bay Area in 2002 and was mentored by a world-renowned San Francisco periodontist. He opened his own periodontal practice in Walnut Creek in 2005 and has since become one of the most highly respected periodontal and implant clinicians in the Bay Area.  He is known in the dental community as a perfectionist for his meticulous treatment outcomes with state-of-the-art treatment of periodontal disease, esthetic soft tissue grafting, and pre-prosthetic oral surgery and bone grafting, as well as dental implants. Dr. Tsai has been published in the Journal of the Western Society of Periodontology and is a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology.
